DANCING GOATS BLEND® #788

This blend, Dancing Goats®, has been a cafe staple for 33 years. Versatile and traditional, its classic flavors of toasted nuts, caramel, and chocolate dominate this simple, elegant cup, with muted background notes of dried fruits. Drink it black, drown it in milk, or pull it as an espresso: it's all good. Why dancing goats? In the remote highlands of 9th century Abyssinia, now Ethiopia, a lone goatherd named Kaldi noticed his goats were full of energy, dancing and prancing, after eating a small red fruit from a nearby shrub. Not wishing to be left out of the fun, he ate the cherries and soon he was dancing too. According to legend, Kaldi and his goats had discovered coffee. Brew a cup, tap your toes… before you know it, you might be dancing with the goats.

"We have tried a number of Bean Box coffees and this is our favorite. We have used the espresso machine, pour over and french press and it is delicious every time. We like a medium to dark roast with a smooth flavor and this hits the mark. Add a little vanilla creamer and it becomes a decadent treat."

"nutty and creamy flavor, a little lighter in flavor than I expected, but still very nice"

"I've already sent an email with no response. My first bag of coffee came today with the box already open and just the coffee in it. We obviously cannot use this coffee as the box was opened. I would appreciate if someone would respond to me."

"I think I need to use this as an espresso to get the full flavor profile. It wasn't bad in a drip, just seemed weak. "

"We use a very good burr grinder and an extremely good drip machine for our daily coffee. One that "blooms" the grounds first. That said, this was a medium-dark coffee. Rich with nutty and toasty flavors and low acidity. Some mild chocolate notes at the very beginning, but they fade fast, giving way to the nuttininess. The toast is a long finish. But a really perfect toast. Not a burnt or overdone toast. No fruitty notes!! We are not fans of the fruity notes except mild citrus sometimes. We prefer the chocolate, nut & toast profiles. So for us, that is a good thing. This is our new favorite. Our other favorite, which is now a close second place, is Dark Side of the Moon. That is more chocolatey and more decadent. This is more nutty and toasty. But both are just amazingly well-crafted with great tastes from beginning to end. "
