AA is a coffee term used to “grade” beans that are a larger size and higher quality-- but you can call this rich dark roast whatever you want, whether it’s AA, A+, or “Gee whiz, that’s good!” (we prefer that last one).
A perfect balance of dense Indonesian aromas, sparkling acidity and lingering roasty, chocolate notes. Our signature blend: a favorite with Seattle clients brewing drip.
"Maybe a touch to dark for me in the french press, but it will wake you up in the morning! "
"A bit less than I hoped for almost overly balanced to the point of being middle of the road. which is perfectly fine. I was just hoping for more of a flavor profile. "
"I brewed this in a drip machine, and it made a good, strong cup of coffee in the morning. But it was a bit too bitter for me to get again. "
"Too bitter for my taste, worked okay with lots of milk as a latte, but wouldn’t reorder "
"Delicious! The dark chocolate and earthy flavors are amazing! I just could not get over the bitter after taste though. "
"This one took a lot of creamer to be drinkable. Its a harsh bitter almost medicinal when hot. We used a pour over method which usually makes things less bitter in my experience so this one was really rough, possibly burnt."
"Lingers on the tongue. I added just a hit of cream and raw sugar and was perfect!"
"Very flavorful, with a rich nutty aftertaste. We really liked this one."
"I wish bean box had half-bean ratings because I'd really give this a 3.5. Definitely a good cup of coffee, but the smoky and earthy taste is a little overpowering for me as a regular cup, especially in the summer. But the dark chocolate, toast and spice finish were very nice. Brewed french press."
"Mmmm chocolate! Easy favorite in the household! Brewed in drip form and could sip on it all day!"
"Ok for regular cup of joe. I would not repurchase it. "
"I feel like the toast description really resonated. It was unexpected but I really enjoyed it!"
"Always a pour over. For me this was a good tasting blend. What stood out the most was the spice in the finish. "
"Good dark roast, nothing crazy about the flavor, which is nice."
"Really good dark roast. I liked what I thought was a nice earthy flavor. "
"A solid brew I'd say. Has that classic AA taste and mouthfeel. Others in my house were asking for a dark roast, and they got a good one in this bag!"
"nice dark bold flavor nice and smooth used my pour over for it"
"This coffee is rich, toasty, and gives you the warm feeling inside that only a really great dark roast will give you. Recommended for the coldest of mornings in front of a fire place. "
"A good, dark roast that is not burnt. The freshness of the roasting really comes through with this blend."
"Came as 1 of 4 in the Dark box sampler and is by far our favorite. chocolate notes really come through while still maintaining a nice balance. Will definitely be ordering a bag of this."
"I have yet to find exactly what to pair with this coffee but the taste is amazing on its own. I just feel like when I drink this cup I should be eating but I can't find that perfect pairing."
"This is one of my fiancé's favorites. Super rich flavor and just the right amount of spice. "
"My first experience with Bean Box was a hit- this was my favorite blend! Flavorful and aromatic!"
"This coffee is lovely - smooth finish with spice up front and medium smooth chocolate finish. Made freshly ground in a percolator. This is the only coffee I have had to order more after six months of monthly deliveries! To be clearly, we have loved them all - this one just blew us out of the park"
"I loved this toasty coffee! Earthy and oh so smooth!"
"Lovely coffee with a wonderful aroma. Hints of spice, grain and milk chocolate."
