A blend of South American and African beans, Dark Side is roasted “just dark enough”, for a smooth, satisfying cup that pairs just perfectly with your favorite breakfast pastry. Moon pie, anyone?

Creme brulee, or "burnt cream", is a classic dessert primarily associated with fine French cuisine: rich vanilla custard capped with a layer of crisp, torched sugar. But it's not clear the dish originated in France. According to food historians, it's found in writings as far back as 15th century England, where the dairy-based dessert is connected with springtime, new calves, and an abundance of milk. And Spaniards point to their own version, crema catalana, as the original: invented in a medieval Catalonian monastery, the sugar-toasted topping intended to fix a flan that didn't set properly. Sounds like a great mistake to me!

It is dark chocolate forward with deep caramel and mild nutty tones. Low acidity and well balanced. While it is a darker blend, it is not smoky, or overly toasty or otherwise suffer from some of those "over roasted" issues some dark blends can have. A truly well-crafted bean.
