Barry, Broadcast’s owner and roaster, grew up with a radio DJ for a Dad: he learned early in life that a true artist knows how to give the people what they want. Request Line Blend was created, by popular request, for Seattle cafe customers who wanted a rich and toasty dark roast they could really groove to. DJ, brew it up!
This particular blend of Brazil and Colombia goes together like a great musical duo: smooth and edgy, with flavors that stay clean. While brewing, you can smell notes of black cherry. In the brew, we taste the malt-like complexity of dark stout beer with a backbone of rich dark cocoa, and a nice herbal acidity in the finish. As the cup cools, a hint of smoky sea salt brings it all together in a distinctly "Seattle" way: a small touch of the gourmet.
As energizing as a morning playlist, as relaxing as an evening standard, we think this blend belongs in the hit parade of anyone who appreciates a smooth dark blend with soul. We know as soon as you share it with your own kitchen audience, the refill requests will come rolling in. Don’t let the beat drop...
What does our house blend taste like with an extra kiss from our Diedrich Coffee Roaster? Twenty more degrees brings out dark chocolate and smoked seasalt. Request Line is our darkest, dankest roast. That’s my jam, could you turn it up?!
"Very flavorful cup of coffee. Made it both in the french press and with a pourover. I didn't get as much dark chocolate as the experts did, but it had a lovely body and mouth-feel. Was great when made in the chemex."
"Enjoyable dark bean. Definitely taste the dark cocoa. "
"Just okay IMO. Didn’t get as much smoke as I thought I would. "
"Fresh and bright in every sip. I really enjoyed this, but think I would like it even more in warmer weather."
"Strong clean robust. Very tasty smooth finish. Have to drink this all day after first cup. "
"Oh gosh this one is tasty! So rich and full of flavour. Love it"
"Really good dark roast! Super smooth and balanced!!"
"This coffee tastes, to me, exactly as it's described. However, smoke and herbal notes are not ones I particularly want in my coffee."
"I'm not sure I tasted the malt, but this is a new fav for sure. Goes well on a Sunday morning! "
"I made this hot in my french press in the morning, and man, I did not like it at all. I knew when I smelled it that it would be too acidic and I was right! It was too much for me. Like the taste notes say, it definitely is flavorful but for me it wasn't easy to drink and it made my stomach uneasy."
"Well-done for a basic dark roast. Smokey, but balanced. This is a coffee- drinker’s coffee: no frills."
"Made as cold brew - didn’t like. Didn’t taste the smoke. Too acidic. "
"Nice and rich, medoum body base with a subtle play of top notes of grains and spices. Very nice cup! "
