Broadcast Coffee Roasters

Broadcast Coffee Roasters

Seattle, WA

Great coffee, loud and clear

Curator's Notes

Barry Faught grew up in Idaho, the son of a radio DJ dad who inspired the name, the logo, and the whole vibe of Broadcast Coffee. He landed in Seattle, fell headfirst into the city's cafe culture, and in 2008 opened his first shop on Yesler with a simple mission: spread love and good coffee in equal measure. Today Broadcast has grown into cafes in Seattle and Boise, plus Temple Pastry, one of Seattle's most beloved neighborhood gems. Barry sources directly from family farms and cooperatives, favoring relationships over profit and a lighter touch on the roaster to let each bean speak for itself. We've been partnered with Broadcast for over a decade, and they remain one of our most trusted and beloved roasters on the platform. In the cup, expect approachable, well-balanced coffees with real range. Something for everyone, done really well.

From the Roaster

Barry Faught hails from the expansive farm fields and deep blue skies of Idaho. His father, Bill Bailey, was a radio DJ and local celebrity in Boise. After college, Barry ended up in the family business of broadcasting, but his yearning for independence and adventure eventually led him to the evergreen city of Seattle. The big city was full of great music, delicious food, inclusive communities, eco-friendly living, and so many coffee shops. Visiting cafes went from hobby to obsession. In 2008, Broadcast Coffee opened its first cafe on Yesler and 20th, named in honor of his dad’s lifelong passion for radio. The goal from the get-go was to spread love and acceptance through hospitality and delicious drinks. Our logo was created with a subtle nod to our values, our history, and the positive future we’re working to foster. Broadcast sources boutique coffees from family farms and cooperatives. We purchase coffee equitably and value building relationships over profit, affording us rare and delicious options year round. We roast for balance and sweetness with a focus on consistency offering a dark roast, a few light roasts, and a lot of medium roasts. Like a great bar, there’s something for everyone. Barry is living the dream with three cafes, a bakery, a stellar roasting team, and a growing community of friends, baristas, and business owners who drink and serve Broadcast coffee.

"This is a very smooth coffee that is on the lighter side of medium. We've decided that we're more dark roast types and appreciate a more robust flavor profile. Very pleasant for a medium roast. "
