Melida and the Strength of Our Cooperative In the mountains of San Juan del Rio Coco, where coffee grows beneath natural shade and birdsong accompanies each workday, Finca Sta. Melida flourishes as the heart of a coffee-growing tradition spanning four generations. What began as one family’s dream—deeply committed to the land—has grown into a cooperative that brings together producers who share the same values: respect for nature, dignified labor, and hope for the future. Here, coffee is more than a crop—it’s heritage, community, and purpose. Every bean we handpick represents the shared effort of families who believe in the power of working together. We process our coffee using traditional methods, carefully preserving the flavor and quality so that each cup reflects our deep roots and commitment to excellence. Together—finca and cooperative—we’re building a sustainable model that allows our sons and daughters to inherit not just farms, but dignity, education, and opportunity. We want every cup of our coffee to tell a true story: one of a community rising, caring for its environment, and dreaming out loud.
