Wake up, brew it up, cheer up: this El Salvador does everything but make your bed in the morning. Water Avenue is proud of their Scandinavian-inspired roasting style, which results in a coffee with rich, full flavors: tart apple, savory caramel, and sweet almond amaretto liqueur. This coffee may, in fact, become your new favorite "adult beverage".
Ayutepeque is one of the farms owned and operated by Cuatro M, one of our coffee producing partners in El Salvador. We have worked with Emilio Lopez Diaz, who manages this family business, for several years, purchasing coffees that he grows as well as coffees from the farms of his neighbors and family. This particular lot is a washed bourbon that typifies this classic salvadoran profile; sweet and balanced with notes of caramel, cocoa, red apple, and amaretto.
"We made this using an aeropress. The description was accurate and it's pretty good. Not one of our favorites, but would buy again."
"Good, but nothing too special in the french press. "
"Another great roast! I love the caramel tastes! I love when something like this ends up in my sample pack! Will probably be ordering more of this one in the future. "
"Delicious made as an espresso. One of my favs of the month. I loved its sweetness."
"Was the winner by far from sampler this month. Delicious. Very balanced yet rich overall. Had a hard time picking out strong tasting notes, but it was overall very buttery/sooth, toffee-esque with just a little balanced acidity perfect for a first morning roast. Made a really great cup w/ v60."
"From the first smell to the last swallow, wonderful tart coffee. Looking forward to trying more from Water Avenue!"
