If you’re the kind of person who loves raspberries and chocolate, this coffee is for you. Guatemala Huehuetenango Pinada is the newest arrival from True North Coffee Roasters, and it’s a keeper. We’re talking about a cup of super rich, super smooth chocolate, with a soft and creamy body like whipped cream and big, juicy notes of raspberry and cranberry. Just one sip, and you might just think you’re drinking chocolate milk! It’s coffee and creamer in one, with a sweet, raspberry truffle flavor we just can’t get enough of.
Guatemala Pinada (meaning pine tree) is a fine example of top notch coffee from Guatemala’s most beloved growing region. Huehuetenango is located in the northern highlands, along the Mexican border, in Central America’s highest non-volcanic mountain range. Here, warm air from Mexico rises into the Guatemalan mountains, warding off the frost and creating an ideal environment for coffee development. Like this cup, the finest coffees from Huehuetenango are recognized by their lush bodies, their superb sweetness, and their desserty, fruit-fondue flavors. This lot comes from the small town of San Pedro Necta, where a majority of small farmers are from the indigenous Mam-Maya community and coffee is the prime driver for the local economy.
True North Roasters loved this coffee so much, they bought the whole lot! It arrived in Seattle just this month, and we couldn’t wait to get it into the Beanery and send it out to you. Reserve your own bag of the raspberry truffle coffee, Guatemala Huehuetenango Pinada. Take it from me: don’t let this be the cup that got away.
