Curator's Notes

We're ex-"stream"-ly excited by the recent arrival of Guatemalan coffees! Finca El Arrollo is named after the crisp, clear stream that winds and shimmers its way across the coffee farm, all set beneath a foggy cloud forest. And much like the meandering stream, this light roast flows effortlessly between floral, melon, and sweet jammy notes. One cup of Finca El Arrollo and we're drifting across Guatemala's picturesque highlands.

"This is a really nice and light morning coffee. It is not at all acidic, tastes great with some milk. The fruity notes are particularly enjoyable! I’ve never had a coffee with fruit notes, and I really like this a lot. "

"First brew was v60 and the flavor was floral rose water dominate. Second time I tried it with aeropress and it was almost flavorless which really threw me off. The final brew I used a v60 Japanese iced coffee. This was the best for me as the peach preserves really shined. "

"Pretty cool roast with light notes of rose water and some sweetness. "

"Consistently whole beans (very few broken) appropriately roasted (not oily, consistently med dark). Flavor profile is spot-on. I always do a 500ml v60 prep, hand-ground. While I don't prefer creamer, I get the impression that could work with this richer brew. Excellent with sweets."

"This is the first coffee from Guatemala that I have experienced since have been a Beanbox customer in almost a year now. The taste appears to come out more as it cools. I came away wishing I had a scone to have with it rather than just a stand alone cup."

"probably my favorite light roast offered through beanbox. it's silky smooth, and not overpoweringly acidic or sweet. i like brewing at hotter temperatures (205F, hario v60) which i think works really well for bringing out the flavors of this roast in particular. thanks, beanbox & stamp act!"
