Rise and shine! We’re excited to introduce you to our newest coffee roaster, Olympia Coffee, and their fantastic Colombian breakfast blend, Morning Sun. A toasty medium roast, Morning Sun shines in the cup with a big, smooth body and full notes of milk chocolate and vanilla, with a finish of toasted hazelnuts. We love this one as drip, but it’s versatile enough as espresso, pairs well with cream, and makes an excellent cold brew. Just like the morning sun, this blend is a real joy to wake up to— and we’re all about bringing joy to the morning.
Olympia has been on our radar for a while now, and we’re excited to share their coffees with you. Olympia is a special presence in the Pacific Northwest roasting scene because of their commitment to transparency, sustainability, and global responsibility. They are a certified B Corporation, which identifies companies with a high ethical standard for their social and environmental impacts. A video of theirs on coffee sourcing was even shown at the United Nations in 2012. They were awarded Micro Roaster of the Year by Roast magazine in 2013, their baristas have taken top spots at the United States Brewer's Cup and United States Barista Competition, and their coffees are routinely seen in the winners circle of the Good Food Awards (as recently as last year).
Who needs vanilla hazelnut creamer? This cup brings its own. As an everyday comfort coffee, we love Morning Sun because it’s sweet, clean, modern but not trendy. It’s certified organic and, as all of their coffees, sourced through a direct trade relationship that guarantees fair wages for every worker involved with the farm. That means, while you’re enjoying your Morning Sun, everyone in Colombia who grew this coffee is also having a good morning, too. That’s a pretty delicious feeling. Reserve a bag of our favorite new blend, Olympia Coffee's Morning Sun, and give yourself the gift of a chocolate-hazelnut morning.
||★★★★★||★★★★★ This was a bit bitter for me. I usually drink my coffees black but had to add cream to take the edge off of this one.|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ The notes of vanilla and hazelnut and noticeable and it's quite balanced when had as an espresso shot for a latte, very good flavor. It's organic! ++ I liked it enough to purchase a full sized bag, it's nice to have a cup of morning sun while basking in the morning sun coming through the window. :)|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ I think I ground the coffee a little too fine, so would've been better. Didn't really enjoy it at first, but strangely after it cooled it was quite sweet. I did get a vanilla hazelnut-like creamer taste to it. Brewed french press.|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ I have to write at least 50 characters is that enough|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ brewed in french press. Decent medium roast coffee. Slight tasted of wine with medium acidity. Have not had many coffees from this roaster, good overall.|
