Rise and shine! We’re excited to introduce you to our newest coffee roaster, Olympia Coffee, and their fantastic Colombian breakfast blend, Morning Sun. A toasty medium roast, Morning Sun shines in the cup with a big, smooth body and full notes of milk chocolate and vanilla, with a finish of toasted hazelnuts. We love this one as drip, but it’s versatile enough as espresso, pairs well with cream, and makes an excellent cold brew. Just like the morning sun, this blend is a real joy to wake up to— and we’re all about bringing joy to the morning.
Olympia has been on our radar for a while now, and we’re excited to share their coffees with you. Olympia is a special presence in the Pacific Northwest roasting scene because of their commitment to transparency, sustainability, and global responsibility. They are a certified B Corporation, which identifies companies with a high ethical standard for their social and environmental impacts. A video of theirs on coffee sourcing was even shown at the United Nations in 2012. They were awarded Micro Roaster of the Year by Roast magazine in 2013, their baristas have taken top spots at the United States Brewer's Cup and United States Barista Competition, and their coffees are routinely seen in the winners circle of the Good Food Awards (as recently as last year).
Who needs vanilla hazelnut creamer? This cup brings its own. As an everyday comfort coffee, we love Morning Sun because it’s sweet, clean, modern but not trendy. It’s certified organic and, as all of their coffees, sourced through a direct trade relationship that guarantees fair wages for every worker involved with the farm.
