Curator’s Notes: Splurge-worthy: cinnamon lovers, cookie lovers, and coffee lovers, this one’s for you! This exclusive, sugar-and-spice blend was created with a rare and special cinnamon co-fermented coffee. The flavor profile is rich like caramel, sweet like cinnamon sugar, and toasty like a graham cracker. My first thought upon trying this coffee was: this tastes just like a snickerdoodle cookie! It also reminds me of the inside of a cinnamon bun, or the crumb topping on a coffee cake. YUM. Why is this coffee so special?? In the land of specialty coffee, a co-ferment is when a producer adds something flavorful – fruit, spices, essential oils, or other ingredients (in this case, cinnamon chips!) – mixed in alongside the coffee beans as they dry. This cinnamon coffee was produced by fourth-generation Colombian grower Sebastian Ramirez, whose uniquely processed coffees and exotic varietals have become sought-after by specialty roasters all over the world. To formulate this sweet, creamy profile, Methodical Coffee blends the cinnamon co-ferment with their single origin Costa Rica La Pastora, with its notes of plum, almond and ginger. The result? A freshly-baked snickerdoodle cookie for your mug! With its holiday-perfect spicy-sweet flavors, this is my official post-Thanksgiving dinner cup.
