Bean Box Breakdown

We’ve never seen an Indonesian coffee offered at Ladro, so this is indeed a special roast. Notes of savory ginger, earthy spice, and syrupy passion fruit make this roast an affair to remember.

Ladro Roasting Story

This coffee is special: grown wild on highlands owned by the native Tairora people. Our trade relationship means that Tairora aren’t selling this valuable land for logging or other purposes.

"Earthy with light spice notes. Very good for a bright morning cup. Brewed with a v60."

"Enjoyed the ginger notes. Was not my favorite but was a nice cup to savor on a sunday"

"Very unique, but not something I could have every day. This is a very different roast, with savory, electric maple on the nose and tongue. You'll definitely get a hit of ginger after this zinger initially hits. Very tart, and very savory. Super interesting -- I just can't drink this every day."

"Coffee with a kick! Don't let that scare you tho! Gives a nice bit of spice with that ginger earthy taste! I definitely recommend this one! "

"Spice is nice. More coffees need to try things like ginger! Loved it as a cappuccino "

"This was a perfectly smooth lightly fruity cup with spicy undertones. Loved it. "

"I liked this well enough but I'm not a lover of passion fruit so any note of that put me off a little before trying it. The more earthy, spice notes came through strongest for me so I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would."

"Muy bueno su sabor frutal es exquisito , sus notas especiadas sutiles "

"Passion fruit... YES. If there is still some of this floating around you need to try it. I brew in an aero press. Had to use a few less beans than normal (because i like a lighter grind), and it was perfect. Every flavor that was promised. "

""Made this in a chemex. This is a very light roast but its sweetness makes this an absolute winner. "

"Brewed in french press. Labeled as the lightest roast. Tastes great, smooth, full bodied, no grassy overtones. Definitely earthy as described, but overall a great coffee for anyone regardless of the type of roast you typically prefer."

"This is a very light roast & a very sweet coffee. The flavor is definitely strong & bright--it's a mix of fruity and earthy/grassy. The spice taste comes out more in the aftertaste of the coffee, which is a pleasant taste. Made it with a moka."
