Curator's Notes

This week, we're celebrating International Women's Day by shining a light on one of our fantastic female-led roasting partners: Equator Coffee! Founded by Helen Russell and Brooke McDonnell in 1995, Equator Coffee has been a beacon of sustainable, delicious coffee -- and they've also made an impact for women everywhere by being the first LGBT-owned company to be named Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Association.

Roaster's Notes

Cooperativa de Servicios Múltiples Sacaclí is a non-profit organization that was established in 1994 by producers of the Sacaclí community in the Jinotega region of Nicaragua. The group focuses on self-sustainable development, the continuous improvement of the quality of life for its members, and gender equity. Currently, Cooperativa Sacaclí has 537 members, of which 93 are women. We are proud to partner with Cooperativa Sacaclí to bring you the first Regenerative Organic Certified™ (ROC™) coffee ever available! This coffee’s roast profile was developed with the intention of maximizing sweetness without masking the coffee’s herbal qualities that make it unique.

"This was the third coffee ☕️ of my iced flight this morning. Enjoyable experience but yet still nothing spectacular. Better iced than hot to me. Worth a try for sure."

"smelled great, however flavor was bland and it was a struggle to finish what beans I had purchased."

"I had really high expectations for this morning cuppa when the aroma during my pour over reminded me a bit of roasting apples. Nice and smooth with a great mouthfeel. One that I really enjoyed this morning but nothing that would want me to have a full size bag or maybe even a second cup."

"You can smell the apple immediately as it grinds. But I didn’t taste it. Nothing really stands out about the flavor here, it was okay, but nothing that would keep me coming back to this."
