Curator's Notes

This sweet cup comes from Western Honduras, where ancient Mayan ruins stand watch over one of the country’s first, and most prominent, coffee co-ops. Crisp with fruit and rich with cocoa, this Honduran gem is one of our “currant” favorites.

Roaster's Notes

The Capucas community has fought hard for their reputation of quality. Located near the Mayan ruins on the western side of Honduras, they have led the way in mill modernization for the sake of producing clean and consistent coffees. Along with greater tools, they have added intensive farmer education, coffee quality competitions, and several green certifications. Their dependable coffee stands beautiful and unique with red currant acidity atop a smooth bakers chocolate base.

"I was sent this coffee, because the one I ordered was out of stock. This isn't a coffee i would have picked for myself. I don't like berry flavors in my coffee, it makes them taste too sour and acidic for my liking "

"Not a favorite.......just too much attempt at flavors it kind of loses the coffee dominance."

"This tasted like a slightly darker coffee. I got a lot of the baker's chocolate, but not so much of the currant. It was good as a cappuccino. "

"This was an enjoyable cup of coffee. A bit acidic, and not as smooth as others, but has a nice flavor."

"Great light roast coffee. Fairly smooth chocolate flavor with good complexity. Would purchase this coffee again. Brewed in french press. "
