It was nothing wrong with the beans, just the notes weren't for me, but you get a lot less say on your first bag. The second one though, I enjoyed way more. "I like how affordable I got the first bag but $18 a bag is pricey for a subscription. Especially when you get bags at random. I think this subscription would be more worth the cost if people were able to choose either the exact bag they want or from a small list each time. I don’t like spice or dried fruit in my beans but that’s the first bag I got which I didn’t know until after it shipped. I didn’t get to pick exclusion tasting notes and only got to choose the roast or if I wanted it completely random. Even though my first bag was about $5, I feel like I wasted it because I didn’t get a bag I can enjoy which is disappointing. I’m not opposed to having beans selected for me. Especially to try new roasters. But I think being allowed to choose the first 3 bags and then get random ones would be better. This way you can base the bag off of what people like from the start. "
" Although I enjoy the service and have no complaints on what I have been shipped so far, I am not 100% satisfied with Bean Box and I am considering other alternatives. Below I have listed some areas that, in my opinion, need improvements: 1. Selection - The selection seems very random and I would love the opportunity to select my own producer and bean. If this option exists, the website is so cumbersome that it is not easily found. 2. Website - Your website definately needs some improvements, as it is not user freindly and very cumbersome to use. 3. Rewards - Your rewards program is not the best, as it doesn't seem like a reward. It only seems like another way to sell customers more coffee. I could not be understanding it, but that would go back to the website information being less than user friendly. To be fair, I have been a very loyal customer to Black Rifle Coffee, so it could be that I am accustomed to their website (which is exceptional, when compared to Bean Box). I do like that you select roasters that are semi-small and so far the beans have been relatively fresh. In full transparency, I am searching for a better option that would replace your service, as I don't feel like there's a value for money. Until that "better option" is discovered, I will continue to give you my money and use your services. "
