Curator's Notes
The Malacara farm was founded in 1888, on the slopes of the Santa Ana volcano. Today, owned and operated by the fifth generation of the family, it's grown into one of the most prominent and recognized names in El Salvador coffee. Fun fact: the Malacara farm keeps their employees happy and healthy with their own school, clinic, and a private soccer field! Maybe that's their secret to success: beans from the Malacara farm are routinely seen in the top echelons of specialty coffee-- in 2011, they won a "Presidential" distinction from the Cup of Excellence, meaning their coffee received a cupping score of over 90 points. That's rare!

We've been purchasing great coffees from Malacara B for years now and this one is no exception. Treat yourself to a delicious coffee while also supporting a great farm. Malacara B provides healthcare, housing, and education for their employees. It's one of the reasons that year after year they can produce some of the highest quality coffees in all of El Salvador.
