Curator's Notes
This fresh crop Kenya was harvested just a few months ago in January, and its flavors are fresh, vibrant, and sparkling: we taste summer sangria and lush tropical fruit. Brew a pot, and you’ll see your day through grapefruit-colored glasses.
Roaster's Notes
Welcome to the first fresh crop Kenyan coffee of 2019, the Karatu. We have 6 lots to offer this season, cupped by our green sourcer at Dormans Coffee in Nairobi this past January. The Kenya Karatu is a coffee that year after year outshines most other Kenyan coffees. It has won numerous awards around the globe. It is our third year picking it out of blind tasting hundreds of Kenyan coffees over several days. We taste blood oranges and pink grapefruit with a sparkling acidity. The coffee also exhibits nice tropical aromatics, think papaya. We are so excited to share this fresh, vibrant coffee with you. Please enjoy!
