These AA-grade beans are sourced from the Othaya cooperative, a well-known name in Kenyan coffee. Formed in 1956 with 250 farmers, the association now has 19 mills and 15,000 members! The Karuthi mill produces sweet, complex, and distinctive coffees, grown in the rich soils of the volcanic Aberdare mountain range— a UNESCO world heritage site and protected habitat for rare and endangered butterflies, birds, plants and animals. Since Coava conducts a personal assessment of every farm they partner with, we know these beans are high quality, the growers are supported, and the lands are preserved. If healthy land grows great coffee, no wonder this cup is so sweet!
