You can’t hurry love.... and you can’t hurry springtime either. You just have to wait! But while nature is taking its sweet time, we’ve got this sweet roast: Ethiopia Gelana Abaya, from our friends at Broadcast Coffee Roasters. Lush, yet mellow, this washed Ethiopian is fruity, floral, and sunny. With notes of sweet peach and honeydew melon, and the fragrance of lilac blossoms and limeade, it’s like a mug of fruit salad and warm spring sunshine.
Washed Ethiopians are known for their complex floral and tea-like notes. Gelana Abaya takes all that aromatic floral and citrus and doubles down on the fruit: the peach, nectarine, and melon flavors are out of this world. This is one of my favorite coffees of the season, because it reminds me of watching the summer fruit slowly start to appear in the grocery stores again. And just in case you’re living somewhere warm enough to appreciate it, Gelana Abaya also makes a fantastic cold brew—it tastes like peach iced tea (a.k.a. sunshine in a glass).
Come put on your peach-colored glasses and treat yourself to a sip of fruit salad and sunshine with Broadcast’s luscious Ethiopia Gelana Abaya. And make sure you don’t delay; just like the warm weather (once it gets here), this limited-run coffee will be gone much too soon.

||★★★★★||★★★★★ Tried this in my french press and chemex. Couldn’t bring myself to like it. Just wasn’t for me.|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ Strong citrus flavor. Smooth caramelly underbelly. (pour over)|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ Brewed in my french press. This is a nice light coffee with a little citrus bite.|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ A light Ethiopian with a floral, fruity bouquet. I drink my coffee pour over style and this has enough body and flavor for the method. It has a slightly fruity and very smooth taste. I will order it again.|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ This coffee smelled great right out of the box, though it did taste a little acidic to me!|
||★★★★★||★★★★★ Used my chemex. I expected this to have much more flavor given the region (but I had a cold so it could be me!)|
