Curator's Notes
You can’t hurry love.... and you can’t hurry springtime either. You just have to wait! But while nature is taking its sweet time, we’ve got this sweet roast: Ethiopia Gelana Abaya, from our friends at Broadcast Coffee Roasters. Lush, yet mellow, this washed Ethiopian is fruity, floral, and sunny. With notes of sweet peach and honeydew melon, and the fragrance of lilac blossoms and limeade, it’s like a mug of fruit salad and warm spring sunshine.
Roaster's Notes
Gelana Abaya coffees are produced in the Gelana and Abaya districts located just northwest of the town of Yirgacheffe. Sweet peach, nectarine and green melon are prominent, along with floral notes and citrus zest aromatics. It’s this complexity along with the evident care invested in the coffee by the farmers delivering to Shara that sets it apart from the scores of Yirgacheffe coffees we taste.
