Their expertise in sourcing is paired with a concrete focus on sustainability, from farm to barista, and they operate as an employee-owned cooperative. Up in often chilly Ithaca, NY, their coffee keeps locals well-caffeinated and warm, and their well-crafted coffees are a must-try.
From the Roaster
Gimme! Coffee's origins trace back to 2000 when a small, quality-obsessed espresso bar opened in Ithaca, NY. Two decades later, we re-established ourselves as an employee-owned business that boasts an award-winning roastery, a from-scratch bakery and handful of cafes that serve world-class neighborhood coffee. We have a proven history of coffee expertise in supply chain sustainability, coffee preparation standards, and equipment installation and maintenance, but our cooperative structure gives us a renewed sense of meaning to what this coffee thing is all about: economic prosperity from coffee producers to baristas, rooted in sensory and community experiences. Our distinctive coffees are our platform to elevate the standards of hospitality and manufacturing to create meaningful work and ensure that coffee systems thrive. We source through Fairtrade and Direct Trade principles, donate 3% of coffee sales to local non-profits, guarantee a living wage, annual increases and additional benefits to all of our employees, and all our coffees are certified Kosher.
