Curator's Notes

Zoka has worked with father-and-son growers Mauricio and Daniel Osorio for eight years. Their geshe trees are carefully cultivated with seeds originating in Panama. This lot is crisp and bright, with lots of acidity and a creamy sweetness.

"I am scratching my head over all the poor reviews. I guess to each their own. My wife and I have been getting the monthly Bean Box for a couple years (4 samplers a month) and this has been our favorite. "

"I think this coffee smells a bit better than it tastes. I enjoyed it well enough though!"

"Not a favorite, but was impressed with its complexity. Just not my cup of Joe."

"Sorry, for a Geisha this was very unimpressive. Have had Ethiopian coffees at almost half the price with way, way more brightness, acidity amd flavor."

"This was not bad for a light roast coffee. The grapefruit flavors made it a bitter tasting coffee.Glad a got to try it, but I would not buy it. "

"Really interesting and nice coffee. Got better as it cooled and had a pleasant taste of white chocolate with some sweetness and acidity. Made with v60. Clayton, I believe the seeds originated in Panama but were grown in Columbia. The Honduran that is shown in the picture is just a generic label that is on most pictures that bean box uses. Hope this clears up any confusion. "

"Ground beans have aroma of chocolate. Brewed black pour over, aroma is gasoline and cardboard. Flavor is aggressively acidic and a bit acrid, but much more full bodied than anticipated, almost creamy. I think I like it. 3.5-3.7 stars, rounded down for my own record keeping."
