In this Johnny Appleseed story, one scrappy coffee lover with a suitcase of coffee seeds traveled to Colombia with a Panamanian prize: Geisha seeds from the prominent and well-known Hacienda La Esmeralda farm. These premium seeds found a home in the Colombian mountainside, with grower Jeremias Lasso, where they grew like wildfire in the lush volcanic soil. Jeremias has been nurturing these plants since 2009, and this is his first fruitful harvest.

You'll taste bergamot, the citrusy orange-lemon flavor that makes Earl Grey tea so distinctive, as well as wash of floral notes. We recommend brewing this light roast as a pour over, with a slightly cooler water temperature than traditionally recommended—let your boiling water sit an extra minute or two. This small difference will maximize the nuance of flavors in your cup.
