Roaster's Notes
- ZERO DEFECT. This coffee was selected as one of the top lots during the second annual National Coffee Quality Contest, an event hosted by :a Federacion Ncional de Cafeteros de Colombia (FNC), which supports more than 500,00 Colombian farmers. The FNC offered five cash prized of $25,000 each for winning lots. Coffee samples for this contest exceeded all expectations reaching a total of 1092 samples from 17 departments. Thirty judges from Asia, Europe and North America cupped, scored and ranked the top 70 coffees, after which 26 lots were offered through an auction. This is one of the winning coffees. Nelson Armando Bedoya Correa produced one of the top lots in this year's competition on his 3-acre farm called La Pena, located in the community of La Cristalina within the municipality of La Concordia in the department of Antioquia. Nelson is 28 years old, he used his own micro-mill to process the harvest, which allows for meticulous care in cherry selection, depulping, fermenting and drying the coffee. Flavor profile is: chocolate fudge, cream and light orange. I have access to 540 pounds of green coffee or 430 pounds of roasted coffee. Bean Box's wholesale price is $20.00
