In Huila, Colombia, sourcing partners have built long-term relationships with smallholder producers to create transparent, quality-driven community lots. This release features the work of four producers: Yamid Quinayas, Luis Octavio Titimbo, German Ortiz, and Miller Vasquez, from the San Agustín and Bruselas subregions. Each emphasizes soil health, selective picking, and slow fermentation methods, with processing that often starts with sealed whole cherries and finishes with low, slow drying. Shared Source works directly with these producers, paying fair, negotiated prices in Colombian pesos, with cash or check options for those without bank accounts to ensure transparency. Yamid has expanded his farm with pink bourbon supported by a Shared Source loan, while Luis and German, members of the Guacharos group, are testing organic methods like vermiculture and calcium sulfate. Amigos del Huila reflects the power of deep relationships, fair pricing, and producer-led innovation, and we’re proud to support the intentional work behind it.
