These beans are roasted to a robust medium level, for a decidedly rugged profile: a bold take on everything we love about chocolatey Colombian coffee.
La Orquidea means orchid in Spanish, an homage to Colombia’s national flower. Tolima is located in the Andes range of Colombia, toward the central area of the country. Coffee from this region has been historically difficult to export, remaining a well-hidden secret until just recently. In 2014, a local cooperative was formed to focus on organic certification, updated farming methods, and market access for small farmers. The result? More of Tolima's fantastic, small-lot, shade-grown coffees are available in the US. Lucky U.S... lucky us!
