Roaster's Notes

Astrid and her husband Raul Duran both grew up in coffee producing families, and they both worked for a coffee cooperative before inheriting Astrid's father's 15 hectare farm: Finca Buena Vista. For years, we've been following Astrid's story, and tasting her coffees whenever we get the chance. We are so excited to have purchased some of her coffee for the first time this year. Not just one single-variety lot, but two! This castillo lot stands out for its distinctive and complex tropical fruit notes. Maryna: In the front, sparkly, Star fruit - sweet/sour, complex. Maybe something citric, like white pineapple. Brown butter/panela sticky sweet finish. Hint of iced tea. Good croissant coffee.
