Every sip of El Salvador Ariz Bourbon Natural tastes like biting into a decadent berry cake dripping in chocolate ganache. As soon as this coffee came across our cupping table, we knew we had to share such a divine find with you.

Roaster's Notes

Ariz Family Bourbon Natural, We worked with our close friends, the Ariz family, to create a natural process coffee - a rare find in Central America. Bourbon varietal coffee cherries are grown at Ariz's Cup-of-Excellence-winning farm, Finca El Aguila, in Ahuachupan, El Salvador, at 1700 meters. The Ariz family has the best cherry selection process we have seen anywhere in the world: only the darkest, blood-red coffee cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness. This leads to a sweeter cup with bold fruit notes. From the farm, the cherries travel by truck to Apaneca, a town about one hour away, where the Ariz family operate their processing mill La Fenix. La Fenix is doing some of the best processing in El Salvador, they slowly dried the bourbon cherries on raised beds in shade for over a month. This process pushed ripe fruit flavors into the coffee bean, resulting in a lush and vibrant cup. Tasting notes: Fruit, Berries, Chocolate, Silk body
