Roaster's Notes
Origins Natural is sourced from smallholder farmers in the Oromia region of the Guji zone of Ethiopia. As is typical in Ethiopia, farmers cultivate various crops including coffee. This coffee varietal is heirloom, meaning its specific varietal may be difficult to ascertain. Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and there are thousands of varietals throughout the region. Each farmer may cultivate a variety of varietals. We give the name to this mix of varietals with quite a legacy as heirloom. Once harvested the cherries are gathered and sold to community processing stations to be sorted for quality, processed, and packaged for shipping. This lot brings back the classic Ethiopian flavor profiles of sweetness with a heavier body.
