Curator's Notes

Let’s Worka from home! Located in the heart of the renowned Yirgacheffe region, Worka washing station produces some of the very best high-end Ethiopian coffees. This one is no exception, with a delicate vibrancy and a kiss of fruity sweetness.

Roaster's Notes

Worka washing station in the heart of Yirgacheffe is on the frontier of high-end washed coffees coming out of the region. It's not a stranger to our lineup over the years, we first brought it in way back in 2015. The latest season's harvest brings that iconic flavor profile back to the foray. Silky, aromatic and elegant, this lot boasts notes of peach tea, ripe raspberry and a vibrancy like a grapefruit spritz. We at Kuma love our washed Ethiopian coffees, this is a gleaming example of why.

"This is a great bean, but the light roast classification is more a medium than light. Or perhaps the bean is a more robust character. I regularly drink a medium city roast Tanzanian peaberry from another coffee roaster and this is quite similar in depth and complexity and yet a bit different in earthyness. I also purchased an Ardi Natural which was a much lighter character and that was more in tune with the unique flavor I wanted as a change of pace from medium roast. If you like a bolder character Worka would be a great pick!"
