Fall’s spiciest cup just arrived: Silk Road Blend is the newest seasonal offering from the dark roast gurus at Fundamental Coffee Company.
Silk Road Blend is a romantic, autumnal mix of Vietnamese and Indonesian beans, inspired by the culture and culinary treasures of East Asia. This striking cup is rich and herbaceous, with a fresh, spicy profile. You’ll taste an interplay of sweet green notes like thai basil, tobacco leaf, and roasted bell pepper, sliding into a lush finish of chocolate milk. The low-acid, earthy profile makes this cup a natural for the season, when you want a morning coffee not just to sip, but to sink into.
Silk Road blend is mostly comprised of two coffees from Vietnam’s misty central highlands, an oasis of high-grown, specialty coffees. Da Lat, a picturesque, flower-filled town, is known as the “City of Eternal Spring”. (Perhaps Seattle, with our cloudy skies and perpetual rainfall, is the City of Eternal Autumn!) Da Lat coffees are pleasantly soft, with a low acidity, classic notes of woodsy, nutty spice, and a savory, chocolatey finish. Rounding out the blend is a spicy, triple-picked Toraja coffee from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Sulawesi beans are known for their herbal, earthy flavors and exceptional richness. Together, these three coffees deliver an exotic, full-bodied cup that feels modern and romantic at once.
If you’re looking for the flannel shirt of the coffee world, you found it! The bold, herbal spice of a fine, Asian Pacific coffee blend is the flavor of the season. Reserve a bag of Fundamental Coffee Company’s Silk Road Blend, and brew a mug of fresh herbal flavors, bold autumn spice, and creamy dark chocolate. Are you feeling cozy yet? You will be…
||★★★★★||★★★★★ Classic dark roast tastes, very dry/low acidity. Not as spicy/earthy as I hoped, but overall seasonally appropriate.|
