Curator's Notes
Barro Negro means “black mud” in Spanish; one sip of this and you’ll think its more like black gold! This rich roast reminds us of a toasted english muffin slathered in sweet pear preserves. Enjoy breakfast on your plate and in your mug!
Roaster's Notes
Moonrise is a blend of Ethiopia Guji natural, and Peru Barro Negro- a washed offering from the Cajamarca region of Peru. Together these coffees produce a syrupy brew with pronounced fruit notes. We particularly love this blend for espresso. Naturally processed coffees keep the whole cherry intact during drying, which imparts more intense fruit character and body to the cup. Guji lends juicy notes of nectarine and passionfruit. Barro Negro is a high grown mix of Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon that adds complex sweetness and refreshing acidity.
