Curator's Notes

Hambela Estate is a third-generation coffee farm founded by Ethiopia’s first female WWII pilot. The farm is still woman run and world renowned for their blueberry-forward natural lots. A roast so jammy you’ll want to spread it on your toast!

"Really liked it but seemed more like a light roast "

"I've spent almost the whole bag tweaking my brew routine to no avail. The tasting notes are borderline non existent. A tiny bit of toasty flavor but pretty bland. The roast is unbelievably uneven, I'd say a solid 1/5 of the bag is underdeveloped and under roasted and the ones that are done a more of a light/medium not even really close to a medium/dark. I am pretty disappointed with this for the price."

"I really liked this coffee but I feel like the roast profile was off. It says dark and roasty but it was more of a light/medium leaning bean. It tasted like toast with jam and was really delicious but taking one star because the profile threw me off."

"Cable Line's Earnest Blend is excellent, so when I saw an Ethiopian blend with notes of fruit from them, I was excited. Turns out, I had every right to be because this blend is phenomenal. "

"Impressively drinkable without any additives! Usually I'm leery of fruity coffees as they can be too acidic, but this was mellow and full-bodied. Highly recommend."

"Holy blueberry! First thing I could smell as it was grinding. It’s a nice drinking coffee, but the fruit overwhelmed the other flavors for me. Very very sweet, and I drink my coffee black. "

"It’s a bit more fruity than we prefer. Hints of berries and that fruity “twang” were decent though. "

"This is surprisingly good! I don't typically like fruity coffees, and this is great. It's not as dark as I'd like, but it is surprisingly smooth and doesn't have they typically sharp flavor that I associate with fruity notes. It's great! "

"Remarkable! blueberry jam forward combined with a medium dark boldness. Smooth all the way. Very easy drinking coffee ☕️. Perfect black but I am sure with these flavor notes would make an amazing cold brew. What a great full bodied Ethiopian coffee! Congrats Cable Line !"
