Curator's Notes
Finca Bella Aurora, "beautiful dawn", is located in the mountainous Nueva Segovia region of Nicaragua, bordering Honduras. This second generation family farm produces some of the country's best coffees; they've won the prestigious Cup of Excellence prize three times, as well as first place in The Finest Coffees of Nicaragua contest. This light roast is rich, creamy and sweet, with a base of milk chocolate and mellow apple acidity.
Roaster's Notes
Joaquin Augusto Lovo Lopez started Finca Bella Aurora in 1956, naming the farm after his mother, “Beautiful Aurora”. At that time, only 3 acres of coffee were being harvested. Today he exclusively grows the Caturra varietal on 50 acres. This Cup of Excellence winner says his success comes from "a good plant, climate, and soil conditions in the area of Dipilto and picking only the mature cherry with excellent processing."
