Curator's Notes

We taste sweet notes of candied almonds in this luscious cup, with creamy milk chocolate and a hint of bright, berry-like acidity in the finish. This high-grown treat from Huehuetenango is sure to melt in your mouth⁠ (but not in your mug!).

Roaster's Notes

New: Finca las Terrazas | Huehuetenango, Guatemala per lb. Beanbox: $11.50 Notes: Blackberry, dark chocolate, candied almond & lemon zest. Plus body, sweet, balanced and crushable. Dr. Jorge Vides M.D. was born in the department of Huehuetenango, Guatemala (1917-1995). In 1958 he bought a piece of land named La Bolsa, located in La Libertad, Huehuetenango. He began to grow coffee until the entire farm was cultivated with Bourbon and Caturra varietals. In the beginning, he traveled on horseback to get to the farm, about 6 kilometers from the Interamerican Highway. He loved this land and was anxious to work the farm by cultivating, harvesting, and producing high-quality coffee. In 1984, Guatemala's National Coffee Association (ANACAFE) awarded Dr. Vides the "Outstanding Coffee Grower" award. Since 1995, the farm has been run by his daughter, Maria Elena Vides, and his grandson, Renardo Ovalle. This coffee comes from El Mirador Finca El Rincon in La Libertad, Huehuehtenango, which is managed by the Molina family. The coffee is often grown between 1,550 and 1,700 meters above sea level, and the varietals include Bourbon and Caturra in the two original farms. This coffee was grown at Finca Terrazas, their third and newest farm, at altitudes of 1700- 2050masl and is 100% San Ramon variety.
