Curator's Notes
Fun story: this third-generation coffee farm was founded by Ethiopia’s first female WWII pilot. Today the farm is still 70% women. In this washed cup from the “Beriti Baron”, you’ll taste floral honey, summer berries, a touch of juicy citrus. It’s aces!
Roaster's Notes
This coffee from METAD is a third generation family owned business with a rich history that began after World War II when the Ethiopian Emperor awarded Muluemebet Emiru, the first African female pilot and family matriarch, with land in the Guji and Sidama zones. This would become the Hambela Coffee Estate. Aman Adinew, after working abroad many years, came back to make a difference for his family and community. His farm encourages women in the workforce, provides university scholarships, and houses a state of the art elementary school with more than 700 students.
