Just in time for the lazy, hazy days of July, this fresh crop Burundi Ninga is a summertime picnic in a mug. You’ll taste big, sweet notes of juicy watermelon, fresh peaches, and cherry popsicles within the light, fruit-punch body, and a sugary, sparkling finish with a touch of rose-hibiscus florals. This is an elegant, effervescent cup that showcases some of the best coffee we’ve ever tasted from up-and-coming Burundi and the Long Miles Project. Like other East African coffees, Burundi coffee is bright and sweet, but delicate, with an interplay of citrus, berries, and florals that can be spectacularly clean, bright and complex. Of all the Burundi coffee we’ve tasted, nothing’s come close to the sheer amount of fruit flavor and sugary sparkle of this one: it's a swoon-worthy taste of sweet summer watermelon you won’t have to share with the kids. Do we hear the hammock calling…?
A sweet, candy-like coffee from the Long Miles Project in Muramvya, Burundi. One of our favorite coffees of the summer. Notes of watermelon, peach and cherry.
