Curator's Notes

Supremo coffee beans represent the largest grading size for Colombian coffees — in this case, good things come in big packages! This is coffee that “tastes like coffee”, with a naturally nutty and sweet profile you’ll reach for all day long.

Roaster's Notes

Colombia’s mountainous terrain, tropical location, high rainfall – but with just the right amount of sunlight, too – and relatively mild climate make for an unbelievably perfect coffee-growing country. People often say that Colombia was blessed with its amazing biodiversity, but if anything, its greatest asset has been an ideal climate and geography for growing some of the world’s best coffee. Our Colombian offerings tend to be sweet, with silky body, balanced acidity, and pleasing notes of cocoa and caramel.

"This is a solid brew, really enjoy the nuttiness. Brews dark but not bitter, wouldn’t hesitate to get it again."

"This was a decent cup of coffee but not my favorite. As it mentions, this is a “coffee that tastes like coffee” so if that’s what you’re looking for, then I’m sure you’ll like it. I made it in the regular drip coffee pot. I tend to prefer coffees with more unique fruity notes. I received a small sample in a sample box so was only able to try it once. "

"Excellent brew. Really liked this one. Nice and chocolatey with a little nuttiness at the end. "

"I taste the peanut note that other reviewers have mentioned, however I love nutty flavors so I thought it was nice. Well balanced, and smooth, fairly dark for a "medium"."

"* I received this in a tasting box* This is not my favorite, but it is sort of interesting. Maybe after a few cups I’ll put my finger on what I feel. Black, it is rather intense and I completely get a peanut note that I didn’t initially appreciate, but it’s a note that I’m not sure I’ve tasted before in coffee. With half and half, which is my preference, it is very subtle, so maybe go lighter on milk if you do use it. It tastes pretty clean and has a nice rush of sweet roastiness a few seconds after a sip. Initially, though, it’s mostly a malt flavor. Nothing wrong with that. Not my preferred flavor profile but I can see this being a nice stepping-stone into specialty coffee which can get intense and dynamic which can be jarring albeit fun. I love taking these little coffee journeys with Bean Box!"

"Loved it! However, the tasting notes on my bag were vastly different from the Beanbox website. I got Toffee, Nectarine, and Amaretto. Rich flavor upfront a touch of liqueur, and a lingering peachiness at the end. This one dances between light and medium. Brewed Behmor drip 200 degrees 2 minutes soak time setting 6 on my OXO grinder 38ish grams of coffee and 20 ounces of water. Simply divine. "
