Curator's Notes

This cup comes from the Long Miles project and their very first washing station, Bukeye. We love this roast for its floral tea nuance, its soft notes of peaches and cream: a light and delicious coffee from Burundi’s finest small-lot farmers.

Roaster's Notes

Gaharo holds a special place in the heart of Long Miles Coffee. This is not just one of the hills of their story, it is the hill where the journey began. The first washing station, Bukeye, built by the Long Miles Project, rests at the feet of Gaharo Hill. Long Miles was founded by Ben and Kristy Carlson, an American family with a belief in the potential of Burundian coffee and its farming communities. Gaharo Hill is one of our favorite lots this year. Notes of orange blossom, vanilla, cocoa, and peach acidity.

"Def a light roast. Didn't get a lot of flavors, but enjoyed it. "

"Basically messed up the french press brewing of this sample pack. But I can extrapolate from it a very good, creamy, floral, fruity and vanilla like flavor. I really like the tea-like body as I drink tea everyday as well. Would like to try it again. "

"I have been very impressed with this Burundi from the new Stamp Act roasters. It appears they have a good nose for coffee. This Burundi has intense, complex flavor, and smells great in the grinding. I used a burr grinder, almost espresso grind, drip method, black."

"(Review #58 - 4.2 / 5) A great light roast. Very bright, and forward floral notes on both the nose and tongue. Surprisingly well controlled acidity - far smoother than expected for as strong as it smells. Vanilla, cocoa and Peach develop as the coffee cool. Can't go wrong with this one."
