Just in time for June’s warm weather to be rolling in, I’ve got a fruity, summer-perfect cup just for you. Slate Coffee’s new Ethiopian Guji is a real peach… literally! Notes of ripe yellow peach define this sweet and delicate cup, with a soft, sugary finish like lemon candy, and honey pooling at the bottom of a cup of tea. One sip, and we’re thinking about picnics, porch swings, and watching the kids run around on the lawn. Maybe after a cup of this, we’ll have the energy to join them….
No one crafts a light roast like Slate, and of all their offerings, the Ethiopians are the stand-outs. This one hails from Sidama Guji region, the home to thousands of small farmers growing coffee in the highlands surrounding the Rift Valley. Guji area is defined by its rich culture of coffee-growing-- and the fantastic coffees that we’re lucky enough to enjoy. Whenever I see coffee from Guji, the name makes me think “juicy”. With all it's ripe, juicy peach flavor, this cup certainly fits the bill!
As a picnic-perfect summer drink, this peachy cup is a lovely little number brewed over ice. As cold brew, it's remarkably similar to sweet tea, but you won’t need to add any sugar-- this roast brings its own. Make a big pot of our new Ethiopian gem, Slate’s Guji Sidama, head outside, and kick up your feet. It's summertime, and the brewing is easy.
Limited to 3 bags per customer. Available while supplies last.
||★★★★★||★★★★★ This was brewed too lightly, but I could still taste the black tea notes, which I really liked. Good smooth, light and tasty cup. Brewed french press.|
