Curator's Notes
A ray of sunshine in every sip! Soft and sweet, like biting into a buttery vanilla cake, fresh and juicy, like a side of summer peaches, elegant and surprising, like a jasmine flower filled breeze. This washed Burundi is one of the best we’ve ever had.
Roaster's Notes
Despite political and economic challenges, coffee production in Burundi has been developing rapidly with more and more high quality specialty coffee. Since it was founded in 2015, Greenco (the company that runs Kibingo washing station and exports this coffee) has been a major contributor to the progress in the Kayanza and Ngozi coffee producing regions of northern Burundi. Over 3,515 local farmers deliver their coffee cherries to the Kibingo washing station where this coffee was sorted, washed, and dried. This bright but balanced coffee was the best of the Burundis we tasted from this harvest, and its unique floral notes may make it the best washed coffee we've ever had from Burundi.
