Curator’s Notes: Get ready to shamrock and roll with our latest barrel-aged coffee! To make this coffee, we partnered with our friends at Middlefork Roasters to age their dark chocolate-forward Guatemalan for two weeks in Irish Whiskey barrels. Now let’s be clear, these beans don’t contain any alcohol, but you’ll taste smooth notes of whiskey in every sip. The body is super rich, super creamy, almost frothy or milkshake-like. The distinctive, sweet whiskey flavor really comes through in a soft, infused way, it isn’t sharp or overpowering, but stays balanced throughout. Sort of like one of those chocolate truffles with whiskey inside. With its bold, sweet flavor combination of creamy chocolate, sweet toasted sugars and whiskey, this is an Irish coffee cocktail in a mug! Roasted to a toasty, developed medium-roast profile, it’s perfect by itself, or just bold enough for a splash of actual cream (Irish cream, perhaps?). I wish we could have this coffee available every day, but because of the size of the barrels, we can only make so much. When we sell out of this one, it’s gone!
