Klatch was our very first partner in California, and I've been California Dreamin' of their coffees ever since the very first sip. Their awards are endless — Roast Magazine's Micro Roaster of the Year, multiple Good Food Awards, World's Best Espresso, their multi-year-winning US Barista Champion. They've been in the biz for more than 30 years, still family-owned, still operating like a small family, with a commitment to direct trade relationships where farmers are paid well above fair trade prices for their coffee. Their roaster, Mike Perry, even has a degree in Chemical Engineering, and uses this background to coax each little bean to its full Peak of Flavor. I mean, are you excited to try their coffees yet??

As far as my recommendation. It's summertime, it's hot, you deserve to be drinking some amazing cold brew. Klatch's black diamond Brazil is a fantastic single origin option for real chocolate-forward flavors. To me this coffee tastes like chocolate brownie, right out of the oven while the dough is still warm and soft – it’s fudgy, full of a deep cocoa richness, low acidity, with a gentle cherry note in the background that keeps things lifted and just sweet enough. The story behind this natural processed, direct-trade lot is that their roaster originally visited over 120 farms to find these beans, and he’s been buying them ever since! This decadent medium roast is destined to become a staple in your kitchen, whether you enjoy it hot, over ice, or as espresso.

Bottom Line: Klatch is back! Reacquaint yourself with their fantastic coffees starting with the Brazil Diamond Reserve, a longstanding favorite of mine for a cold brew that straight up tastes like you drizzled chocolate syrup into your cup.
