Roaster's Notes
Nyamasheke sits on the western edge of Rwanda above Lake Kivu, where the lake's steady humidity moderates the highland temperature and volcanic soil builds mineral density into the coffee. Mukantwaza Laetitia and Rutaganda Gaston built Rwamatamu Farm across 20 hectares of this terrain. They bring over a decade of experience to the operation, which is driven by a workforce that is 80% women. This Indabayo lot is a natural Red Bourbon, dried as whole cherries on raised beds for up to 35 days. It's a genuinely sweet coffee. You'll notice raspberry sorbet and white chocolate right away, with a finish that reminds us of shortcake. It features a syrupy, dense body paired with a lively, winey acidity that keeps all that sweetness perfectly balanced.
