La Minita farm, located in the renowned Terrazu region, has been producing coffee since 1985, but the land began as a sugar cane farm in the early 1900s. Its name means “little mine”, a nod to a section of the property once believed to hold gold. While the mineral turned out to be pyrite, or “fool’s gold,” the farm ultimately proved rich in something else: coffee is La Minita’s true gold.
