We're excited to announce our newest coffee partnership, the Seattle-based Fiore Organic Roasting Company, and introduce you to Fiore by way of their all-organic Peru Rancho Sabancaya. This bold medium roast is spice, more spice, and everything nice, with a strong, smoky profile and lots of spicy flavors—brown sugar, cinnamon, maple— within a creamy body like dark chocolate and almond butter. In the finish, a round sweetness emerges, like molasses, with a hint of baked apples and cinnamon toast.
Fine coffees from Peru share the beloved, South American flavor profile of mellow acidity, nutty undertones and a burnt-sugar, caramelized sweetness. Peru has been making a splash on the specialty scene within the past few years, producing some of the best, most affordable organic coffees on today’s market. Peru Rancho Sabancaya is named for one of Peru’s active volcanoes of the Andes range. Sabancaya means “tongue of fire” in the native Quechua language-- a language that many of Peru’s small farmers still speak!
As with all of Fiore's coffees, Peru Rancho Sabancaya is certified Fair Trade Organic, ethically sourced from a cooperative of 7,000 small farmers across the prime growing regions of northeastern Peru. One of Seattle's original organic cafes, Fiore has been a community coffee hub for 18 years— ever since former barista Deming Maclise bought the cafe in 2002 and made a commitment to source, and serve, only FTO and ethically-sourced beans. With their dark wood panelling and old-school appeal, Fiore's small Seattle cafes blend a classic, darker roasting style with a very modern sense of social responsibility. Maclise has recently taken the helm of Caffe Vita, a longstanding partner of ours and a well-known name in local coffee. His original Fiore lives on as their sister brand of organic blends and single origins; after all these years, it remains true to its original vision.
With its bold, smoky profile and rich flavors of spice, molasses, toasted nuts, and a hint of apple butter, Peru Rancho Sabancaya is a medium-roast breakfast staple that blends the old, the new, and the delicious! very smooth and mellow coffee. Flavors are subtle but present. I am 100% light cream in my coffee type of person, however I actually prefer this coffee black. My boyfriend likes his with cream
This was fine - 4 stars for cappucino but 2 stars as pourover. Not my cup of tea.
This is a very familiar, smooth and rich coffee. I would suggest this for people who like "coffee tasting coffee" that lacks any harshness or bite. It has nice depth with some fruit flavors under the sweet earthiness with a long, thick finish.
Got this one as a gift for my son. He loved it! Makes me want to order a bag for myself!
