Curator’s Notes: Did you know that this year is the 20th anniversary of the “discovery” of the Gesha varietal at the 2004 Best of Panama coffee competition? After two decades, its popularity shows no signs of slowing down. Synonymous with luxury, this rare, hugely-popular bean still holds a special place in our coffee-loving hearts, and I will never NOT get excited when one like this crosses my path! Los Robles is a superb example of the classic, beloved Gesha profile - light and delicate, with a soft, rounded vanilla body, intense florals in the nose and the cup, jasmine, lemongrass, orange blossom, some licorice spice, and a mouth-watering array of sweet citrus, dried apricot, and summery peach tea in its lingering, super-clean finish. One sip, and it’s easy to understand why washed Geshas are some of the most sought-after coffees in the world – a true unicorn of coffee!
