Curator's Notes
In Spanish, “Naciente” is a natural, fresh water spring: a fitting name for a farm that produces such fresh, sweet coffee! We think this citrusy, creamy cup tastes like lemon-frosted shortbread. It’s absolutely worth springing out of bed for.
Roaster's Notes
Juan Mesen and his brother Jorge each own small one-hectare coffee farms. Their internal drive and resilience boosted their Caturra and Catuai varietals into the specialty coffee market for the first time in 2013. While visiting a nearby coffee mill called Rio Jorco, the mill manager boasted of the Mesen’s hard work, potential, and resolve. We requested samples to cup, brew, and cup again, only to be rewarded with deliciousness at every point and we have never looked back. Notes of meyer lemon, graham cracker, and turbinado sugar.
