Roaster's Notes
Mustefa Abakeno manages an extensive 18-hectare (44.5 acre) farm located at an impressive elevation of 2,040 masl in the region of Jimma in Western Ethiopia. As an exporter and operator of his wet mill, Beshasha, Mustefa is able to process and export both his and his neighbors' coffees. In 2021, Falcon - the importer of this coffee - employed an agronomist named Harun. Since then, Harun has helped Mustefa and his neighbors improve quality in growing, harvesting, preparation, storage, and cataloging of day lots. In addition, Mustefa maintains a small field lab, equipped with a high-spec Sinar moisture reader, which enabled Mustefa and his team to maintain consistent moisture levels across day lots. All of these efforts equate to a higher quality product, and thus a more delicious cup of coffee.
