Curator's Notes
Berry Good: A sweet, cranberry-forward cup of optimism to start your January on a high note. Berry Better: This balanced roast is a finalist for the 2018 Good Food Awards, a San Francisco-based organization that lauds the season's tastiest, most environmentally-sustainable food products. Initial notes of wild blueberry and cranberry mellow into a swirl of brown sugar and cinnamon. This one takes the (coffee) cake.
Roaster's Notes
Daniel Miju processed his coffee as a separate micro-lot at the Worka Cooperative where Daniel is a founding member and is completely traceable. The cooperative was established in 2005 and Daniel’s farm has been utilized as a model to help everyone in the cooperative improve their harvesting methods. Daniel was born in Worka and started cultivating coffee in the late 1970’s. Now in his 70's, Daniel remembers a time before the cooperatives when he had to transport his coffee cherry by horse to the town of Yirgacheffe. Through coffee Daniel has supported his large family with includes 23 children who continue to live close to Daniel and help him mange the farm.
