Evans Brothers Coffee

Sandpoint, ID

Idaho's best kept coffee secret

Curator's Notes

Evans Brothers Coffee was born on a chairlift at Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho during the winter of 2008, when brothers Rick and Randy Evans started dreaming out loud. Rick brought the business acumen, Randy brought over a decade of high-end specialty coffee expertise, and together they built something rooted in seasonal sourcing, intentional roasting, and genuine producer partnerships. The kind of roaster that doesn't just buy great coffee — they show up at competitions, meet the farmers, and come back every harvest. Their relationship with Guatemala producer Maria Escobar, whom Randy discovered at the Best of Huehuetenango competition in 2019, is a perfect example. Her farm is less than a hectare. Evans Brothers buys her entire harvest every year, paying a quality premium, because that's just how they operate. In the cup, expect precisely roasted, competition-caliber single origins that reflect the full potential of each season's best lots.

"Very tasty, subtly fruity, but I'm usually a fan of a honey process anyway "

"Wonderfully pronounced caramel/toffee flavor with a roasted nuttiness on the aftertaste. The aroma of the ground beans is especially lovely! Very full mouthfeel when brewed a little darker and actually made a really nice espresso for a flat white. I am leaving this review and heading straight to their store to purchase more. (I have my eyes on their Guatemalan)"
